What is it?
The Super Reflector is an 18 panel, welded aluminum dish, designed to reflect a radar signal directly back to the radar gun. The small reflector returns as much signal as what would normally be returned from a semi-truck!
Increases Clocking Distances
The Super Reflector can be used with any radar gun to dramatically improve clocking distances on difficult targets. Just strap it around a rider like a bolt, or bolt in onto a vehicle of object.

How it Works
When radar bounces off an object, the vast majority of the signal is either absorbed, passed through, or lost because it is reflected at odd angles. The signal that gets returned to the radar gun is only the signal that hits reflective areas that are exactly perpendicular to the gun. The Super Reflector is designed to capture a small area and return all of that radar energy directly back to the radar gun.
Signal is Returned on a Parallel Path
The basic principle is to deflect the beam three times so that the return angle is exactly parallel to the approach angle of the beam (within about a 20 degree range). Therefore, nearly the entire signal that reaches the Super Reflector is deflected precisely back to the radar gun.
Two surfaces that meet at right angles will return a line back on a parallel course. The Super Reflector works in three dimensions, using three surfaces that meet at right angles.
Up to 10,000 Feet of Clocking Distance
Here is an example of a Tigershark personal watercraft that was very difficult to track due to it's water spray pattern. Without the reflector, the Stalker ATS radar lost sight of the Tigershark after 1300 feet. With the Super Reflector, the Stalker ATS could measure the watercraft for 7000 feet. Without the spray, it could have been measured to about 10,000 feet!
Improves STATS Recordings
Nearly as important as clocking distance, is the dramatic increase in signal strength. The radar tends to track only the reflector, creating an isolated "hot spot." This substantially reduces speed variations and dropouts, which increases accuracy. STATS user's will see watercraft recordings that look as clean and smooth as an automobile test.

What's Included
The kit includes the Super Reflector with ¼" threaded inserts machined into the back mounting plate. A sturdy nylon belt with latch buckles is also included to allow the reflector to be "worn" by a snowmobile or watercraft rider. |
