The Stalker Speed Awareness Monitor (SAM) is a 24/7 traffic calming presence on a rugged, dependable trailer. Despite its compact size, the SAM is legible from 1,000’ (305 m) away and able to operate continuously when fitted with an optional solar panel. It also features changeable SPEED LIMIT numbers, so you can deploy your SAM anywhere without the need to purchase additional SPEED LIMIT signs.

Don’t let the SAM’s compact size fool you- its small size allows it to be easily positioned anywhere you need to calm traffic, and it’s bright 18” amber LED characters communicate drivers’ speed up to 1,000’ (305 m) away. The optional programmable LED violator Alert warns motorists by flashing red/blue strobes when they have exceeded your pre-set speed threshold.

The SAM is equipped with Stalker’s famous Stationary Speed Sensor II K-Band radar, so you can count on it to be accurate and durable. It also offers greater range, sensitivity, and tracking when compared to radar signs manufactured by the competition.

At the heart of the Stalker SAM radar speed trailer is proprietary LED Lamp Matrix and LED Pulse Width Modulation technology. The LED Lamp Matrix concentrates and focuses the LED’s light, allowing the motorist to see the sign at a greater distance and, thus, act on the speed warning quicker.
LED Pulse Width Modulation significantly increases the time between battery charges and powers the LED’s so that they remain at a consistent brightness throughout the battery’s entire discharge cycle.

The radar unit in the SAM can be used with the optional Statistical Package to collect and store traffic data including vehicle speeds, vehicle classification, 85th percentile data, and more. This data can then be downloaded into the Stalker Easy Analyst software to create clear, colorful reports, charts, and graphics that you can present to your department, city council, and infrastructure managers.

The SAM can run for up to 18 days of continuous operation using its 4D Deep-cycle 12-volt battery. Add an optional top-mount solar panel to run your sign indefinitely. The solar panel needs only 2.5 hours of bright sunlight to recharge a full day’s worth of battery power.
